Bartimaeus

BARTIMAE'US ("son of Timaeus").

A blind beggar of Jericho who sat by the wayside begging as our Lord went out of the city on His last journey to Jerusalem (Mk 10:46). Hearing that Jesus was passing, he cried for mercy, and in answer to his faith he was miraculously cured and "began following Him on the road" (v. 52).
