Samaria was:
Founded by Omri as capital of Israel (northern kingdom)
1 Kings 16:24 -
And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver, and built on
the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of
Shemer, owner of the hill, Samaria.
2 Kings 3:1 -
Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the eighteenth
year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years.
Isaiah 7:9 -
And the head of Ephraim [is] Samaria, and the head of Samaria [is] Remaliah's
son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.
Isaiah 8:4 -
For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the
riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king

2 Chronicles 28:15 -
And the men which were expressed by name rose up, and took the captives, and
with the spoil clothed all that were naked among them, and arrayed them, and
shod them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and anointed them, and carried all
the feeble of them upon asses, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm
trees, to their brethren: then they returned to Samaria.
Hosea 10:5 -
The inhabitants of Samaria shall
fear because of the calves of Bethaven: for the people thereof shall mourn over
it, and the priests thereof [that] rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof,
because it is departed from it.

But a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name [was] Oded: and he went out
