Solomon
Solomon's name (Heb. Shelomoh) means "peaceable." He was also called Jedidiah,
meaning "beloved of Jehovah."
He was a son of King David by Bathsheba (2 Sam 12:24; 1 Chr 3:5). He succeeded
King David to the throne and ruled from 965-926 B.C.
