Timeline of Dates and events in history.

If we could go back in time we would be amazed at what we would see. Real people and real events that actually happened in time.

If we were to go back in time and see the crucifixion of Jesus we would have seen the Roman centurion trembling as he felt the earthquake that split the veil of the temple in two, and we would have heard his voice as he cried, "Truly this was the son of God." Whether we want to think about history or not, the people that existed were real people, and the events that happened were real events that happened in time. It is important when studying the Bible to try to understand enough about history to think about what was actually happening. Movies like the Titanic can make a powerful impact on us as we realize how things might have been for the people involved. The Lord gave to us in the Scriptures, a way to see back in time, a powerful record of history, in the light of him who is the very cornerstone of history, the most beautiful part.

 

Matthew 13:16-17 - "But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear. For most certainly I tell you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things which you see, and didn't see them; and to hear the things which you hear, and didn't hear them.
