Quotes About the Bible and History

The Acts Of The Apostles

"The Acts of the Apostles, the second volume of Luke's account of the origin of Christianity, narrates the history of the church from its inception in Jerusalem, the capital of Judaism, to the arrival of Paul in Rome, the capital of Gentile government.

The period of growth extends from A.D. 30, the year of the crucifixion of Jesus, to the terminus of Paul's first Roman imprisonment in A.D. 62.

Although the information supplied by Acts is far from complete, it is the best single source available for knowledge of the historical and geographical facts of the apostolic age. The Epistles of Paul and the General Epistles provide a few additional facts."
