3-9. Succinct but solemn warnings against vices to which kings are
peculiarly tempted, as carnal pleasures and oppressive and unrighteous
government are used to sustain sensual indulgence.

to that . . . kings--literally, "to the destroying of kings," avoid
destructive pleasures (compare
