Horus

Horus was "the great god, the lord of heaven." He was god of day and the sky-god. His eyes were the sun and moon. He was son of Osiris and Isis. Horus was worshiped in the form of a hawk, or falcon, or of a hawk-headed man. Horus symbolized the sun and came to share his divinity with the pharaoh. The story was that Osiris was killed by Seth and hacked to pieces. Isis finds them. Horus fighting Seth, loses an eye. It helps restore Osiris, who reigns as god of thwe netherworld and judge of the dead. Seth survives as a god of violence. Isis becomes the divine symbol of a loyal wife.
