Robe of the Ephod

The robe of the ephod was of blue color, woven without any seam. It was worn immediately under the ephod and was longer than it, reaching a little below the knees, so that the priest's coat could be seen under it. The blue robe had no sleeves, but only slits in the sides for the arms to come through. It had a hole for the head to pass through, with a border around it of woven work, to prevent its being torn. The skirt of this robe had a remarkable trimming of pomegranates in blue, red, and crimson, with a bell of gold between each pomegranate.
