Jeremiah
Jeremiah, who was called "the man that hath seen afflictions" was a
tenderhearted, affectionate son of a priest. He wept continually as he witnessed Israel's
fanatical addiction to idolatry and apostasy. Jeremiah was often writing in a
dungeon and courageously prophesying about the tragedies soon to come, the
destruction of Jerusalem, and the people being deported to Babylon. (600 BC)
