Paul's Second Missionary Journey with Map
Troas
Events in Troas During Paul's Second Missionary Journey
#3 When they went through Phrygia and Galatia the Holy Spirit
forbade them to preach in Asia and so they passed through Mysia and came to
Troas where Paul had a vision of a man from Macedonia asking for help.
It is interesting that right after Paul had seen the vision it says that
immediately
"we" endeavored to go to Macedonia. Now notice here we have a
plural pronoun
"we." You remember that Luke is the author of the book of
Acts. This is the first time the personal pronoun is used. So it is probably
here at Troas where Luke met up with Paul. Luke now turns to the personal plural
pronouns because at this point Luke became a companion with Paul, notice the
"we" and the "us" in the rest of the verse.
16:10 "And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavored to go
into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us to preach the
gospel unto them."
